Objective:

A US-based IoT product company sought Srushty ES to design a pet monitoring device. The goal was to create a compact, waterproof (IP68) pet monitoring device with IoT capabilities that could be seamlessly monitored via mobile app and dashboard.

Our Work:

Our team led the pet tracking device’s redesign and end-to-end product development. The original design was bulky and needed optimization. We applied expertise in multiple areas to achieve this, including:

  1. Industrial Design: Focused on creating a compact, user-friendly design.
  2. Mechanical Design & System Architecture: Ensured the device could house all components within a small, durable enclosure.
  3. Rapid Prototyping: Used 3D printing, silicone molding, and CNC machining to produce prototypes.
  4. IP68 Enclosure Design: Developed a fully waterproof casing suitable for outdoor use.
  5. PCB Design and Firmware Development: Integrated features like body temperature, activity tracking, and atmospheric monitoring. Communication protocols such as BLE, WiFi, and GSM were implemented.
  6. Software Development: Designed mobile apps for both Android and iOS platforms, along with a web portal hosted on Amazon Cloud and Microsoft Azure.
  7. Production Support: Took responsibility for tool qualification and designed a Production Line Tester to ensure device quality at scale.

The result was a slimmed-down, functional device that met all requirements for durability, monitoring, and user interaction via mobile and web platforms.
