IP Rated Enclosure for Industrial Asset Tracking Device

Background

This project focused on creating a new and improved asset tracker specifically designed for cold storage environments. Here’s a breakdown of the key points:

Client’s Goal: Enhance the previous tracker’s design for better aesthetics and functionality. Here’s what they wanted to achieve:

• Improved Design: A more visually appealing and user-friendly design compared to the bulkier previous version.
• Enhanced Durability: The new tracker itself needed an IP rating, meaning it would be resistant to dust and water ingress, unlike the previous version where only the enclosure had an IP rating.

Our Work

We took complete ownership of the mechanical design for this new version. Here’s what we delivered:

• Mechanical Design: We handled the entire mechanical design process, ensuring the tracker functioned optimally in any environment.
• Prototyping: We created prototypes to test the form and functionality of the new design.
• Tooling Sample & Design Qualification: We developed tooling samples and ensured the final design met all the client’s requirements.
• PCB Layout & Feedback: We provided the initial layout for the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and offered feedback on its design to optimize its integration with the mechanical aspects.
